Green Smoothie Miracles--Reversing the Irreversible

Just finished watching Vayla Boutenko's documentary "Reversing the Irreversible", a very inspiring film.

All of these people healed all sorts of conditions through the use of greem smoothies and raw foods exclusively.

I am really missing fruit. Several diabetics were interviewed and they were doing tons of fruit with tons of greens in their smoothies and they were doing fine. One guy was also adding lots of chia seeds in daily as well and lost a ton of weight.

I am re-thinking adding back in some fruit but I have to say I am a little afraid...I think the dates were a big problem, but one thing that has almost completely gone away since going fruit-less is my endometriosis pain. I am not eager to have that come back again.

I am contemplating judiciously adding back in some fruit but I want to give it a little more time.

The film makes a big deal about getting enough greens and Omega 3 fats like hemp seeds, walnuts and chia seeds.

I do think having enough fats daily is important. I am so grateful for going through this journey and am learning so much..fine-tuning things as I go. Adding back in things that were once thought taboo, learning to be balanced...about everything. Sleep, exercise, stress, food.

I have not been testing my blood sugar regularly, but haven't felt the need to as I definitely feel balanced. I now know that I need more proteins and fats on a daily basis such as garbonzos, nuts and greens. Fruits definitely provide some sweetness and fiber and fuel.

We'll see how it goes and I don't know when I will add them back in. Perhaps in a week or so. We'll see. Maybe the first of the year.

Dunno.

But if I do. I will do a green smoothie blast with some nuts, sprouted garbonzos and exclusively raw foods...

  2. It has been a month and a half with absolutely no sweet fruit, and feeling better and better each day. Better meaning no issues with bladder, no cravings to eat all the time. I think fruit makes me want to eat all the time.
I wish you the best in finding a great clean diet leading to a pain free living.
